Recommended apps

Your Shopify plan is a fixed monthly bill. Apps are not: five apps at $15 each quietly cost more than the plan itself. So this list is short on purpose — every app here earns its subscription by solving something you genuinely cannot solve without it.

For each one you get what it does, roughly what it costs, and the part most roundups leave out: when you should not install it. A brand-new store with eleven orders a month does not need a bundle engine.

We have not run all of these for months on end, and we will not pretend otherwise. What you read here comes from the App Store listing, the developer documentation, and what actually appears in your admin once the app is installed.

The app buttons on this page are affiliate links: if you install an app through one, the app's developer pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Which apps appear here is our editorial call — the placement is not for sale.

  • Conversion

Post-purchase offers on the thank-you page, after the card has already cleared — the one upsell slot that cannot cost you the original sale.

  • SEO

Meta titles, alt text and sitemap checks product by product, so your listings have a chance of ranking outside of paid traffic.

  • Shipping

A branded tracking page on your own domain, which is the cheapest way to kill most "where is my order" emails.

  • Consentmo GDPR Compliance

    Privacy and compliance

Cookie banner and privacy requests for the state privacy laws — useful the moment you sell into California, Colorado or Virginia.

  • Conversion

"Frequently bought together" blocks on the product page and in the cart, tuned to be suggestive rather than pushy.

  • Shipping

Shipping rates by weight, zone or ZIP code — for when flat-rate stops covering what USPS and UPS actually charge you.

  • Search and filtering

A search bar that tolerates typos plus collection filters, worth adding somewhere north of a couple hundred SKUs.

  • Conversion

Volume discounts and bundles: buy-two-get-one, value packs and quantity breaks straight on the product page.

  • Conversion

Pre-orders and a back-in-stock waitlist, so a sold-out product keeps taking money instead of losing the customer.

  • Froonze Loyalty & Wishlist

    Accounts and loyalty

Customer accounts with a wishlist, store credit and points, in place of the fairly bare default Shopify account page.

  • Sourcing and dropshipping

Dropshipping suppliers with US warehouses, which is the only version of dropshipping with tolerable delivery times.

App pricing and free plans change often. Check the current Shopify App Store listing before you install.
